Long Time No Blog

Updating this thing for the first time in a while. As I revamp chuckivy.com I'm thinking that having a blog portion seems useful, and hey, this already exists! (Not that anybody's ever read it as far as I know...)

So what have I been doing in the last year? Some more video; Processing; realizing that my work may, indeed, be post-post-modern... Alan Moore talks about how the alchemists had a notion of SOLVE ET COAGULA — Separate, and Join Together. Post-modernism is all about separating...deconstructing...analysis. It doesn't spend enough time putting things back together...synthesis. And a lot of my work now is doing just that—breaking down media and rebuilding it in new shapes. So at least I feel like I have a better grip on where I am in the grand scheme of things!
